Caring for children in the nurturing environment of their home continues to grow dramatically - the result of technological advances and the availability of skilled nurses to provide professional care.  Once confined indefinitely to a facility, an increasing number of children who survive birth defects or have severe illnesses can now receive physician-directed nursing care in their own home with their families.

Since 1991, Continuum Pediatric Nursing has set the standard for pediatric home care in the Washington DC Metropolitan area – including the Northern Virginia and Maryland suburbs, Baltimore MD, Pittsburgh PA and the Norfolk/VA Beach VA areas.  We are JCAHO Accredited, Medicare/Medicaid Certified, and endorsed by countless families, discharge planners, case managers and virtually every major insurance company in the communities we serve. 

The goals of each CONTINUUM PEDIATRIC HOME CARE TEAM is to:

• Normalize the life of the child in the family, community, context and setting.

• Minimize the impact of the child's condition.

• Foster maximal growth and development.

• Develop realistic, functional and coordinated home care plans for the children and families.

• Respect the roles of the families in the care of their children.
